About

Owner/Founder -JP Tillman a.k.a. The QB Technician

J.P. is a Houston Native that was born and raised in North Houston. He attended Northland Christian School where he started on varsity as a "True Freshman" took them to 3 straight playoffs appearences (1- 3rd round, 2-4th round). Was touted as the #1 Qb in the State for Private Schools  and He had offers from Colorado & Iowa State, which coming from TAPPS was very hard to do in the early 2000's. J.P.  would later transfer to Cypress Falls HS for his senior year where he won the starting QB1 spot and took his team the farthest they had ever been 4th Rd of Texas HS Playoffs! But his body would take a toll getting their and J.P. would have to sit and watch his team play after he was the one to help get them that far. Due to both shoulders being separated he watched his Eagles go on to lose to Andy Dalton and the Katy Tigers in the "Greatest 4th Round Comeback in Texas History". Although his season fell short of making it to state! He got offers from Duke, North Carolina, Missouri, Oregon, along with 10 others that season and was touted as one of the top QBs in the Nation and State. He would finish in the top 20 QB in the nation by Rivals.com & top 3 QB in TX in 2006 by Rivals.com. He was also an All American for Max Emfinger (before Under Armour All American) and was invited to compete for a chance to be a 2006 Elite 11 Finalst but missed by 1 spot.

J.P. had over 17 D1 offers and decided to commit to the University of Missouri where he backed up Chase Daniel from 2006-2008 and that is where he learned "The Air Raid System" from OC Dave Christensen and QB Coach David Yost! After almost 3 years J.P. would later decided to transfer to Grambling State where he would be coached by HC Rod Broadway ( 3 Time HBCU National Championship Coach) and QB Coach Jay Davis III (who played at NC State where he backed up Phillip Rivers). J.P. learned a great deal of information and the game from those two men. He would go on to win a National and Conference Championship without throwing a single interception in that 2008 season. The joy was short lived as he was sidelined by chronic stomach ulcers, had multiple procedures, and sat out for 2 years.

It was at that point he started to train with Plex owners Danny Arnold/Dr. Luu, there he would train for a comeback career and was given an oppurtunity to play at Hardin Simmons University only to break his neck during a football practice and had to be rushed to the Hospital. Again he battled back, He decided to leave school and declare for the draft. He came home to finish therapy and start training again with Plex and their staff! Once the doctors cleared him, J.P. was back training so he could see where his professional career in football would take him. Several CFL teams invited Coach Tillman to try out and travel around the country to mini camps (Hamilton, Edmonton, Ottawa, Winnipeg)  but past injuries, procedures, and medical complications, made doctors and teams take 2nd looks so later he decided to retire from playing football & start teaching the next generation of QBs. He's been coaching QB’s for over 8 years & is the QB developer to some of the top ranked QB’s in the Country and many are from right here in Houston, Texas.

Trainee of George Whitfield, and has worked alongside men like Jim Zorn, Mike and Kyle Shannahan, Mike McDaniels, Sean McVey, Mike Vick, Dennis Gile, Craig Nall, Ron Veal, Will Hewlett and many others that have poured into him a wealth of knowledge and experience. In 2019 & 2020 J.P. was a HS QB Coach for Houston Christian HS where in 2020 his QB avg 300+ yards a game and had one of the most potent offenses in School history. His Sophomore QB broke several school records in 2020 as well.

In The Past 4 years... Our Academy has had QB's start in 10 State Title Appearences, 7 won State Titles, and 3 earned State Title Off. MVP. For those who don't know... Houston's most prestigous award that a High School Football player could receive is the "Houston Touchdown Club. Many Houston native NFL Legends have won this award and for the past 4 years we have had 5 Qbs chosen as a finalist. Out of the whole city of Houston they can only pick 3 QB's each year, so out of the last 12 picks, 5 finalist have been QB's out of this academy. This year Dematrius Davis became the 1st QB out of FSG Academy to win the aactual award and become "The Houston Touchdown Club" Player of the Year!

"Your sons will know how to play this game with love for their craft and the game itself. Helping them see their tools and showing them how-why to use them."
